Have you ever tried even quicker MACD settings? Like, for instance, 5-13-8 ?

I realize that you would tend to get a lot of false signals, but conceivably at least you could combine a more leading indicator with another (e.g., stochastic), and/or a confirming indicator. And quicker MACD settings could be used for fast exits (as you use the faster stochastic), and so forth.

It just strikes me that having two early indicators (such as a fast stochastic and a fast MACD) for an "alert", then a slower signal (e.g., slower stochastic and/or MACD setting) for confirmation of an entry might offer advantages. And the same may be true with exits, though I think your general strategy of getting in after the momentum has started, and getting out before it has peaked is excellent.
