Agreed on all.
At some point, there will be news that will be irreversibly good, that won't be decayed in the price to these low levels over time. While new shorts will be created the new higher levels, the old ones will be lining up to get out after things settle down. Net will be a 20-50% reduction in short shares. The squeeze will be a bit delayed, but then unfold dramatically, hopefully taking out an additional 25% of the new shorts with it. Shorts ending up with 4-7% of total, or so.
Perhaps the next update brings the MRK payment confirmation. No doubt an incremental positive, but not explosive.
Until then, this irritating trading will persist.
