As I understand it, nobody is paying them right now. I said "reportedly" and I also said "close," which means not there yet. However, should they succeed in obtaining work, I assume that the State of Florida would pay them. Florida, no doubt, would demand reimbursement from BP. So I guess you could say BP would be paying them, without contracting directly with them. Florida needs to clean up to protect its thriving tourism industry, and not suprisingly is considering a Florida company.

The Louisiana marshland has an entirely different focus than tourism. Its very ecological existence is being threatened.
