Yeah, I've been spending a good bit of time looking for more data. It looks like Isidore went through to fast, and wasn't even a hurricane at the time so it didn't churn the gulf that much and bring up the deeper cooler water. Lili has been a peculiar one. Just last Thursday it had spun down so much they didn't even do a 5pm report. Last water vapor images showing it starting to become elongated, and there is drier air to the west of it. Some of the far northern bands are already getting pickup by the westerlies, and it looks like some of the rain bands are starting to hit the coast. The 8pm update seemed to indicate it had picked up a little forward speed. If it would slow down and linger off shore, that would be best. And some vertical shear would be nice. Blow the top off it. Doesn't look to be any.

At least so far it looks like it's going to hit in a little populated area. Might not end up with that much damage. Looks to be a fairly tight core, and much beyond about 30 miles either side shouldn't get much wind damage. Probably mostly water damage. And that looks to be on the east side, which just got hit. So they could luck out and not see a lot of more claims, since the damage hasn't been repaired yet.

What's been interesting is Kyle over in the Atlantic. It's been around for almost a day more than Lili. The boys at the NHC don't have a clue as to what it is doing. At times the top and bottom have been 10-15 miles apart, and they've had it going every which way under the sun. Looks to be trying to strengthen again, but some shear should show up in a day or two and knock it back down.
