Botox for chronic pain and migraines really does work. You can get it in the US offlabel. My wife has had a few injections and they usually last about $3 months, I believe they cost about $400 - $600 a treatment, but maybe if it were used more it would come down in price. She swears by them and while she was pregnant (last year) and while she is breast feeding they have/had advised her not to get the localized injections (it's localized like novacaine - didn't make much sense to me figuring if the analgesic effect was localized then the "toxicity should also be localized and not be too prevalent in the blood - but I didnt argue) and she has been suffering because of it. I can say that as soon as she is able to safely get the botox injections that she will.
