Um, in case you missed it, the guy from TED made the point that we are STILL waiting 40 years later for those robots that were going to do all the work for us. heck, I'm still feeling the tingle from seeing those movies in school ('60s) that said we would all be eating one pill for all our meals and we'd be riding around on individual space ships.
The human race will still be here in 2050. I hope we still have real pets then.
