The fact that MV and RS take the time to respond personally, when most every company I know would have their PR firm have an intern send a boilerplate 'Thank you for your inquiry' email', is an underappreciated courtesy
Being the sympathizer you are, I know you would like to believe that they are "underappreciated." It seems more likely that your remark is nothing more than a red-herring. It's equivalent to focusing on/debating the quality of penmanship in a newly discovered confession letter, for which the prosecution has a weak case against the suspect.
