If long-term safety at low doses can be ascertained from short-term safety at high doses as ridge_runner asserts, then a heck of a lot of clinical trials being conducted to test long-term safety must be superfluous.

Imagine the huge cost savings for the pharma industry if long-term safety trials are no longer needed! Someone should forward ridge_runner’s post to the FDA and the PhRMA.

It might also be prudent to send a copy to the ATLA. (Look it up if you don’t know who they are.)
