Owned by Chad Clapp and Tim Varney and based at 24 Dowd Road in Bangor, Hollywood Custom Rides provides limousine service throughout Maine and points beyond with a fleet encompassing customized vehicles. From high school proms and weddings to field trips, instate or out-of-state concerts or sports events, and corporate travel, Hollywood Custom Rides “can meet your transportation needs,” Clapp indicated. “We are pleased to take you wherever you want to go in style.”
The Hollywood Custom Rides’ fleet includes: • A pearl white Cadillac EXT, a 40-foot limousine that can accommodate 14 people “for weddings or nights on the town,” Clapp said. Several local schools have discovered that renting this limousine for field trips costs less than renting a bus. • A pearl white GMC Duely stretch pickup with four full doors. Equipped with a 454cubic-inch V8, this limousine can seat eight people. Young people “go crazy over it,” Clapp said, explaining that the Duely often serves as stylish “wheels” for prom-goers or young people traveling to social events.

Passengers can move easily throughout the Vault, which is painted a deep blue and “is armored all the way around” with ballistic panels and bulletproof Plexiglas, he indicated.
Power is provided by an International 466 DT diesel. The Vault is available for every conceivable transportation need, from traveling to art museums and sports events to attending a prom or wedding or going to Bangor to visit Hollywood Slots or other tourist destinations.
According to Clapp, the stylish Vault “has attracted a lot of attention” while cruising the
streets of Bangor or transporting folks to Portland or Boston on Interstate 95. He constantly fields phone calls from people inquiring about the Vault or the other Hollywood Custom Rides’ vehicles. “The is the first limousine built that can go to Canada,” which bans “for hire” vehicles that have been “cut, altered, or changed in any way,” Clapp said. “This is the first actual limo [that[ I can take there.”
Although it costs more to rent than do other HCR limousines, the Vault actually costs less person to rent “because we can transport more people in it,” he stressed. “We’ve already done one Boston trip and one Boston trip,” and the customers hired the Vault after “figuring out it would cost them less money” than taking a bus or motorcoach, Clapp indicated.
Each vehicle offered by Hollywood Custom Ride comes with an appropriately licensed driver. Clapp noted that a driver and a chauffeur travel with the Vault.
The chauffeur assists passengers with loading and unloading and ensures that every trip goes well.
