So .... stay inside till they go away .... sounds like a typical bureaucratic, government response, huh? Sort of like a doctor I once visited. I told him my shoulder hurt, but only when I raised my arm past a certain point-- he suggested I not raise my arm that high! (I know, I know!)

What the heck they think you are going to do anyway, run out and ask them their names?

Yep the big 50 - coming around on the 4th of October. I am a libra, though I try hard to get past it!!!

I would imagine that you will get plenty of fires from 3 1/2 cords of wood. The wood fires are great, and moving the wood around is good exercise, especially if one is cutting and splitting it as well as loading, unloading and stacking. I always liked to go out and cut wood, especially on a cool, partly cloudy fall day. The smell of the sawdust and being outside are great.

I well understand about the 'no spare change' thing. the checks I received for my accumulated leave time amounted to roughly two months salary, so since I left the payroll on the 9th of August ... I will effectively go into an 'unpaid' status as of the 8th of October ... so I have been cutting corners a bit too. I will pursue the 'customer greeter at Walmart' position if nothing else comes along soon! That, or get used to living like I did growing up .... Beans, cornbread, and potatoes ..... Hey, doesn't really sound that bad actually!

Thanks so much for the good wishes, and the advice to try and stay healthy. I figure investing in my health will definitely pay more yields than the stock markets these days!!!

Good luck with the bear problem. Wish I were there to help you in the 'control' process. Haven't you always secretly wanted a nice bearskin rug in front of your fireplace?
