There may have been a misunderstanding or i wasn't clear enough, my apologies. Verizon is a bit more expensive than most of its competition. For me it's all about coverage for the money. In my area and where i roam, i have found that tmobile gives me the best value; however Verizon has better coverage in really rural areas. But I can't justify paying $20 dollars or more per month for my rate plan the few times a year i go camping, when i really don't want coverage except for 911 anyway. My plan is a single plan, my girlfriend has her own plan. So I pay about 30 for the unlmted web and email, and about 49.99 for unlimited voice. For whatever reason shared minutes always seem to have less value, minutes for money, but can be more affordable if you can stay under the limit. From working in the industry, it never hurts to look at your carriers website or call to see if there are any new or better deals than the plans you have now.

So 30 is just for the web and email, voice is 50. The reason i started with the smart phone is at one point i could get the internet service for free at another carrier i worked for. then when i had to change to a normal paying customer again i had grown very accustomed to getting my email on my phone, and being able to use navigation features that require both the internet feature and the phone had to have the necessary hardware.
