i think you're hitting on a really good point.
while a lot of what we are seeing from these guys looks like mismanagment, i would like to look at the other possabilities:
1) they are most taking more than a little advice from counsel. I'm sure they are aware of the fact they are teetering on the edge of destruction and they are trying to be as careful as they can to prevent that from happening. I'm quite sure council has told them they are better off putting out nothing (because they can't get indited for putting out nothing) than putting out anything that isn't 100% right. while I think we'd all like to hear from them, there isn't a 4 sentence PR that will sum everything up and make it all OK. it would take a lot of words and much like being recorded, it is easy to make mistakes or say things that can be misinterpreted in a long drawn out PR covering a dicey topic...
2) while I don't think these guys are "scamming" us or "conning" us, I don't doubt they may have made a mistake or 2 while trying to take advantage of the specific situation they were in... they very much don't want to put out a PR summing up any of that as it doesn't really benefit them in ANY way and "anything they say (in a pr) can and will be used against them in a court of law. that's a pretty big risk just to make us feel better about the stock we are currently salty about because we've lost some money on it...
3) I think my $3000 loss (which is currently already lost)is not at the top of their priority list. restoring the stock THIS WEEK or NEXT is not at the top of their priority list either. keeping the company ALIVE most likely is. satisfying the SEC and getting them off their backs surely is. Putting all this trouble behind them so they can look good and hopefully capitalize on the gulf crisis (seeing as how they have sort of built a business around oil cleanup products and theres a lot of it around)is most likely very close to the top of the list. These are concerned about your investment but it does them no good to put out a quick but dangerous PR to restore their stock price so you can dump their stock and move on to the next penny stock gamble with your shirt intact. they are (hopefully) taking a longer term look at the situation and if any of what I write here happens, its a lot possible these guys will come out of this in a few weeks back on the pink, back to where their stock was a month ago or higher, back in the good graces of the SEC, back to having a happy poppulation of stock holders and happily providing environmentally friendly chemicals to clean the mess in the gulf and profiting well on that work.
with that, I hear the opening bell so I gotta go...
**anybody else want this soapbox? I'm done with it for a while...
(PS, i didn't reread what i just wrote before posting so enjoy any typos or gross mistakes I may have just published...)
