Typically waste management companies are involved in the collection and disposal of solid wastes; ie, garbage pickup. Companies in this industry are WM (Waste Management, Inc) and CWST (Casella Waste Systems, Inc). This type of enterprise would not describe the business model of GLEC.
Now personally, I don't care how a broker classifies the company. All I care about is beginning revenues and earnings.
The reason for my post was to address the misperception of a previous poster who was suggesting that if his broker changed the business classification of GLEC this could mean that the business model of the company must have changed. That is not the case.
