Greetings one and all! Geesh, have I ever missed a lot! I can't begin to read every post, but my skim-reading reveals:

K2 is being driven to emulate Annie Oakley, all because of some trespassing varmints!

ONEBGG may be moving to the country? (did I read that right?)

Colt ... is just Colt ... Spent a weekend watching women shoot clay targets ... (wonder what else he was 'watching'??)

TH is still in fine form, and giving great advice to K2 on the possible firearm purchase (as were the others, too)

Meanwhile, I remain jobless, homeless, and am just so down in the dumps about it I am having to resort to special therapy sessions on the water ..... extended ones, now, with my next one set for tomorrow A.M..... the cooler nights are cooling the water, which will mean the fish will get more active and begin to feel that urge to feed heavily before winter arrives ... and I will be waiting for them!!

The big 50 is just around the corner for me ... the little wife got me TWO good "Big Boy Toys" a bit early, as she was leaving town to visit the 'outlaws' in NYC for a few days. A leaf blower (with orders to 'try it out - before I get back from NYC') and also a small chain saw, that I can use once we get moved out on our lot, provided of course I get employed and can convince the bank to let me have the cash to build a house!!

Otherwise, all is going along about as well as can be expected. Got out in the woods a while last Saturday ... with my 10-22 ... on the pretext of going squirrel hunting, but was really scouting for deer and turkey signs. Saw three deer and a good size flock of turkeys (several jakes in the bunch). Saw some good deer sign, rubs and scat, and found a couple of good possible stand locations. Actually even took one shot at a squirrel, but only a half-hearted one, and missed. I took three shots later at a target with my rifle, and all were 'dead on' so ... had to be me! I didn't want to have to clean him, actually, if you want the truth, even though a pot of squirrel dumplings wouldn't have been bad!

Glad to see everyone apparently doing well. I am just SO thankful to be out of that sub-urban DC/Northern VA mess. I know everyone here understands what I mean. It is great being a 'country boy' again!

Later,
