Dips or recessions are "judged" by GDP, we had three Q down (Q1 to Q3 2001), and two Q up (Q4/01and Q1/02), the second dip will probably consist of two Q downs Q2 and Q3 02 (I am assuming that Q2 will be revised down at the end).
