Currently the net short position on $GOLD is just under 70,000 contracts for the commercials as they covered quite a few contracts this week on $GOLD's weakness! Here's a chart depicting the amount of net shorts at tops and bottoms for $GOLD, it's aged slightly, but it's value is priceless:



Conclusions: given historical preference, the commercial shorts, AKA the "big boys" or "powers that be" preferably would like to cover at least 10,000 more contracts before we get a bottom, with that said, pay close attention to the next healthy dip that will occur next week!
