The problem with that many silver coins is not so much the quantity, but the fact that their silver content isn't posted on the coins.
On top of that, he may have coins with more numismatic value than silver value. It's a total crapshoot with that much metal.
In the end, the cost of sorting it all out and getting max value for each coin may be less than if he'd just sold it all at 60% of spot price (Which would still be ~$100,000)
