Hap, Thank you for the compliment. I hope some of my random musings can reach a wide audience, some of whom may well be young political staffers perhaps even politicians of today or future. Most current politicians are too busy fund raising; most of the policy decisions are made by staffers (under the advisement of lobbyists) nowadays; many of politicians don't even have the time to read the important laws that they legislate.

Informed voters are even more important than informed politicians, especially if the "mandatory vote" proposals are to come. Many societies collapsed because the people wanted to place the government jackboots on the face of someone else (be it "tax them" or "ban them," but "subsidize me"), assuming that's some kind of "free lunch" provided by the pagan god named "government," only to find the same jackboots crashing down hard on their own heads in turn. To maintain a free society, voters have to be constantly reminded of the infeasibility of "free lunch" theories.
