I certainly agree that tax increases are necessary and that subsidies for "special interests" are wasteful.

But if providing workers with additional income/cash is a waste of time how do you explain the Making Work Pay tax credit?

Increased economic activity is a net positive for taxation and employment. I don't disagree that some people would save but I suspect the majority of the cash would be spent...it's the way think in the USA....spend today, save tomorrow.
