Summing Up The PR and RR Series
Hear are the facts about Reader Rabbit.
Reader Rabbit Kindergarden DS is still selling very well. I am guessing at least 200,000 units have been sold so far.
The Wii Reader Rabbit Series is going beta testing to work out any kinks as we speak. The games could reach gold status any day now.
The Reader Rabbit Kindergarden DS game continues to stretch it's distribution base into new stores every month. Thank you to all those with regards to their excellent research!
SDVI is continuing to develop and support these games. They aren't just sitting around waiting for a realease date. Ken is making sure that the games reach their full potential with regards to sales. He wants the games to play well and reach as many consumers as possible. I would rather see Ken do this and make money rather than distribute the series, get bad reviews and have few consumers know about it.
Here are the facts about Mr. Caparro.
This is what he stated in the PR:
Mr. Caparro said: "I am thrilled to be working with RJ and his team. 7th Level's support of my vision to identify, invest in and integrate independently viable next generation new media companies is very exciting. The challenge of creating a content ecosystem of the future whereby connecting high quality content creators with users more directly, efficiently and effectively has been a lifelong passion."
This is what Mr. Caparro will be hired to do:
Mr. Caparro will be headquartered in New York and will be responsible for the acquisition, development and operational management of the companies in 7th Level's New Media Entertainment Division which includes Kefi Entertainment, a new artist music company distributed by Universal/Fontana Distribution.
Mr. Caparro will also be working very closely with both Mr. Bucaria and 7th Level CFO Jack Carton to complete investments in 3 other New Media-based entities for the division, which include a lifestyle media marketplace, a cutting edge marketing company and an entertainment-based transactional company.
What is Fontana Distribution?
Fontana Distribution is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, launched in 2004, which deals in distribution, as well as a range of sales, marketing, and back office support services, for a diverse roster of independent record labels and their artists.[1] The company takes its name and logo from the defunct Fontana Records label. The company includes a Canadian division, Fontana North, and a UK-based operation, Fontana International, which handles territories outside of North America.[2]
Fontana Distribution has been known to successfully round up albums from national Universal Music Group labels worldwide for American release or for a distribution extension into further territories. Fontana Distribution also partners with Executive Music Group and Chicago Independent Distribution, which in turn distribute other independent labels.

I believe SDVI is making an entertainment powerhouse and is using RJ to run 7 LEG and the music artists that are involved and using Mr. Capparo to run the portion of SDVI (New Entertainment Division) that will be used to make money off of the artists that have contracts with 7LEG. There is going to be a lifestyle media market place (social networking?/consumer purchasing?), marketing and entertainment-based transactional component (how they will probably keep tabs on sales/profit) to the New Entertainment Division not including Kefi Entertainment. I think Kefi Entertainment might be the portion of the entity that will talk between 7LEG and the New Entertainment Division. They might be the ones that set up gigs, give information to 7LEG on how to improve their performance, what the public want, ect.
This PR was pretty meaty if you dug down into it. I'm still waiting for the HARD NUMBERS though!
Just my 2 cents.
