I'm not positive about this, but I have experienced BK with another company. The shares remain going into BK but in a very high percentage of cases (upper 90%'s) upon emerging/if emerging from BK, the common stock of the old stockholders is wiped out. Secured creditors get issued stock in the new company.

This is typical but not absolute.
