Many junior exploration companies stake claims on land with unknown deposits. Granted, "former mine" isn't a guarantee of anything, but it does mean at one time there was a 16g/t producing mine. Not a guarantee certainly, but it could mean there is still enough gold in that area to extract and make worth while.

True, did they extract all of the gold in that mine or was in abandoned?

Won't know until the study results come back.
