The company reported a first-quarter profit of $233 million, or $1.79 a share, up from $2 million, or 2 cents a share, a year earlier. The latest quarter included a $237 million gain from termination of certain post-retirement employee benefit. Revenue rose 41% to $1.9 billion. Gross margin widened to 22% from 3.3%.
