I don't think it would send the right message for a new board if the moderator deleted the very first msg that someone else posted!

Regarding the Lilly Ampakine problems, I view it from 2 perspectives: from a platform perspective, and from a business perspective.

From the platform perspective, any news of seizure problems is troubling, but the mitigating factors are:

1) Lilly's compound is from a different chemical family than Cortex's.

2) Lilly's compound was a high impact Ampakine, CX-717 is a low impact Ampakine.

The fact that Cortex has the only safe low impact Ampakine in development has to be seen as a major positive for the company. Cortex took the road less traveled with their focus on a low impact Ampakine, and it has paid off tremendously. Lilly's failure, while not a positive in itself, has served to highlight Cortex's enviable position with a safe and hopefully effective Ampakine in CX-717.

From a business perspective, Lilly has apparently not been one of the BPs expressing interest in Ampakines with Cortex to date. Thus Lilly's interest in working with Ampakines but recent lack of success in doing so may finally persuade Lilly to work with Cortex.

As a BP deal slowly comes into focus, the more suitors the better for Cortex and its investors... Aiming4.
