As for whether iPad has caused impact to netbook demand, Shen pointed out that Asustek is still observing; however, he believes iPad's functions and target markets are different than netbooks and the iPad is unlikely to create a replacement trend.
Commenting on market watchers' estimates that Intel's Atom processor shipments will rise from 32 million units in 2009 to 35-40 million units in 2010, Shen believes the netbook market will still maintain, but will see weaker growth in shipments than before.
Seems like a stronger market than some may have anticipated, given the iPad comments over the past week.
