Similar logic... Moonbat Tech: Eco-Dim, the Dummer Dimmer

I love dimmer switches. Use lots of 'em in my house, with those antiquated, evil incandescent bulbs and ultra-expensive, halogen recessed lights. Besides being able to set the mood, I can dim the lights to save electricity, thereby saving money. (No carbon footprint was figured into our choice do dim.)
Enter Green Technology. Green adherents in government and media are so into making Green the must-have technology that they will do anything to Greenify everything from toilet paper to tampons -- because eco-moonbats, Democrats, and Hollywood celebs will pay good indulgence money for them.
I want to meet the conniving Green entrepreneur bastard who thought up this one: Eco-Dim. These dimmer switches are billed as guaranteeing you "at least 15% energy savings." How, you ask? Simply by taking a normal 600W dimmer switch and -- are you ready -- allowing 15% less electricity to pass through the switch at the highest setting, compared with a normal dimmer switch.
What does this mean? Quite simply that, when you want the dimmer to be on full brightness, you will only get 85% of the maximum brightness. This goes totally against the whole concept of full power. I want my dimmers to "go to eleven" if need be.
This gadget is more than a few shades short of the brightest bulb. Even my 10-year-old daughter realized how ludicrous this concept was: "Uh, doesn't that totally defeat the whole idea of a dimmer switch?" she opined.
And yes, and the Eco-Dim switch costs a bit more than its comparable non-dimmer from the same company -- a full 27.3% more. Just as with CFLs, the additional cost per unit may make you feel good in a sacrificial kinda way, but you're paying extra for the inconvenience they cause and will be lucky to make up for any electricity cost savings. My 10-year-old understands how lame this is. Eco-moonbats do not.
