Buying more trees,

It turns out the justiceforall has been selling back some trees to Steve and the teak trees that he still owns are of the same year and on the same farm as where I have the bulk of mine. I liked the idea of getting some diversification at a reasonable price. But for me this would clearly not be diversification, so I decline to buy.

Just to clarify a few things as far as Steve goes. I wrote to him and asked whether I could buy trees from someone else here he answered as follows:

Dear Jan,

Thank you for your kind note.

All tree owners have the right to convey their trees to anyone they choose.

Our only requirements are that the transfer must be for a whole certificate and not a partial transfer, and that we receive a properly executed assignment agreement that we approve, along with the assignor’s voided original Tree Order Form and Certificate for the original quantity of trees to be conveyed. We execute a new Tree Order Form with the assignee and issue the assignee a new certificate.

The fee is $35 per transfer unless the reason for the transfer is that a tree owner has passed away, for which there is no charge.

Typically the assigning tree owner writes to us with the details. We then prepare the assignment for both assignor and assignee's approval and proceed from there.

Thank you again for your kind note.

Warmly,

Steve

I guess that information is perhaps useful for others.

If anyone else is interested in selling trees from before 2000 in a different farm at 10 dollars each, I would be interested.

Jan
