...."Wal-Mart: Information King.
Back during Internet Fever, I said publicly that the best tech stock was Wal-Mart. At the time, everyone laughed. But now, of course, this is almost conventional wisdom. Wal-Mart tracks every purchase, every shipment, every cost of doing business, minute by minute, in every corner of the world.
No one puts information and supply-chain technology to better use.
The next tech revolution puts a radio tag on every sock, ballpoint pen and tin of Spam that goes through Wal-Mart. This is the biggest change in business practice since the bar code in 1974.
Now, thanks to broadband, radio tags the size of a grain of rice are able to emit a unique signal that tells you instantly and precisely where everything is in your supply chain. And Wal-Mart has just told its suppliers -- everything must be tagged.
The competitive advantage this gives Wal-Mart is akin to the advantage that the production line gave Henry Ford. It's that big!
But Wall Street, always interested in this quarter's earnings' estimates has completely missed the impact that radio tag technology will have on Wal-Mart's dominance.
Buy Wal-Mart while Wall Street's looking the other way. Make this the cornerstone of your technology portfolio."....
Nobody should buy hold sell or do anything for that matter based on my thoughts/opinions on anything.
