That is all well and good but since the SEC is only making "civil" charges the result will be some fines, maybe big fines but the actual perpetrators will get off with a hand slap.
We need to see criminal charges from the Justice Dept with the perp walk and resulting jail time. A handful of folks from Goldman probably deserve jail time; and I don't want to sound like a "he should resign" Repub but if Bernanke and/or Geithner were involved they should be shown the door.
That guy John Paulson, who made like $3B in the scheme, should be shown the way to Sing Sing and relieved of his loot, they need to break him.
And this really should only be the start. Levying fines on a few Wall Street Banks will not get their attention. These guys nearly brought down the World financial system and without tax payer bailouts, they would have. We need to clean house and send the worst of them up the river.
