SUMMARY OF IMPRESSIONS FROM "LOOKING BACK" (above)

12/20 Our Confidence Index reversed on Friday and is
looking a little weary. Our various indicators are
weakening, too. TRINQ moved up to 6.24. The dollar
index was weak but XGLD couln't take advantage of it.
XOI was up over $6.00.

12/17 Our numbers slipped, just a little, but given
the heavy volume I'd say we had a stable close.
The dollar index gave back a little of yesterday's
gain so XGLD picked up a little. XOI was steady.

12/16 All good things must come to an end. Leastways,
our COMPOSITE took a pretty good hit on the increased
volume. Today made McClellan do a little dance; it
turned down after turning up yesterday. The dollar
index had a good day gaining all of yesterday's loss
and a bit more. XGLD and XOI gave back yesterday's
gains.

12/15 Our Confidence Index is above the bullish level.
I don't wnat to be a kill-joy, but we're getting some
negative divergences in our indicators. Probably
nothing imminent, but worthy of note. The corporate
bond index is very strong and the dollar fell. XGLD
was up $5.50 and XOI was strong, too.

12/14 Our Confidence Index has gone positive. The
dollar index was steady, XGLD was a trifle weak
and XOI was steady.

12/13 I'm impressed. The orderly consolidation seems
to be turning into an orderly advance. Of course,
we have to keep in mind that this is quadruple-witching
week, so it could be quite volatile. McClellan resisted
the bouyancy, but it's often a little late to the party.
The dollar index gave back Friday's gain, XLGD was up
over $5 and XOI was up over $12. (minus, minus, minus,
minus. That's me, toning down my enthusiasm a little.)
