Well at least we bottomed out somewhere, so the discussion was useful. This wasn't about me convincing you of anything, but rather about finding out the core beliefs driving us to disagree, and that's what we did.

I personally believe that Obama has been genuine in trying to find solutions for this country, but there are things that cast doubt. People were made to suffer from something completely out of their control, and the people they trusted to protect them let them down. Certainly, some people are going to trust the government less.

At some point, though, you need to decide who you want to have as a leader. I hope it's someone with the intellect and integrity to do better, rather than someone who talks the talk, but has someone else pulling the strings. I can think of several people in current politics who are vying for a job as president who fit that description.
