I know. I was raised Protestant, but I'm familiar with some Catholic terminology. Protestants call it "Communion"......even though I never felt it helped me "commune" with anything. Damn wafer sticks to the roof of your mouth. Made me feel a little weird.....cannibalistic sorta....."the body and blood of Christ".....yuk.

As I said, to me at least, it was an interesting choice of words to name the ritual. It brings to mind, the "unwashed masses".
