Thanks for your prompt reply. I appreciate your answer and understand your professionalism in not wanting to render answers outside of your field. And yes, I am sure that bariatric problems face greater barriers than suggested in my previous post.

It’s just that as a layperson, I speculate that as the numbers of morbidly obese persons in our population increases they will comprise a greater percentage of a hospital’s inpatient population. Under this scenario, and given the limitation of capital resources, hospitals will have to consider seriously directing capital finding to the devices that are best suited to treat that population.
