Measure pols like Obama on their words and hold them to high standards, but don't profess anger at them for not holding up to a caricature you dreamily doodled in your Trapper Keeper.

Tom Coburn, R-Okla., Obama in 2007 helped to pass "Google for Government," a law mandating a user-friendly database tracking federal spending for the public to follow. Yet little more than a year after taking office, the Obama administration has yet to produce such a database of special-interest tax breaks for public disclosure.

Obama Campaign Promise - Create Green Jobs Corps: "Obama will also create an energy-focused Green Jobs Corps to connect disconnected and disadvantaged youth with job skills for a high-growth industry."

Strengthen Nonproliferation Treaty - Obama said his administration will work to "strengthen the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as a basis for cooperation." The president was clear in what he hopes to accomplish by doing this: "Countries with nuclear weapons will move toward disarmament, countries without nuclear weapons will not acquire them; and all countries can access peaceful nuclear energy."

Obama has increased military spending, expanded the wars in the Mid East, extended the Patriot Act without any reforms of its abusive spying programs.

Obama has continued the Bush policy of extraordinary rendition, outsourcing torture.

Many of his cabinet appointments, I consider extreme right wing: Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder come to mind.
