Just a comment, and maybe somebody has a cultural explanation.

All of the reports of perversion and sexual abuse by Catholic priests over the years, it seems it is always White Americans, or Europeans... I don't recall any hispanics or latinos. My wife was raised Catholic and among latinos; she says it is because if found out the Mexicans and Central Americans would probably just gang up and beat the priest to death and "disappear" him, and the priests know this, so they keep their hands to themselves.

Interesting topic I guess, a cultural trait?
