it's not real clear from the article. my impression is the $5.8M is the price to the buyer, so it includes everything. it doesn't say what the config on the XServes was, either, so any guess between $3k and $4k a pop is fair game. lots of extras, too, like the half a million or so in networking gear to tie all that stuff together...
