Most people - even those invested in mining companies - have no concept of what has to happen to turn a piece of moose pasture into a mine.

Their notion of "mining" is watching some cheesy Gabby Hayes movie where he and his mule stumble over a gold nugget laying on the ground and he yells "Eureka!" while the mule farts.
