The [IDX184+IDX375+IDX320] results indicated either very good additive effect or synergistic effect, whichever way you want to call it.
Thanks, nivasvs, for posting this abstract. I would like to wait for the actual poster presentation on April 16 before opining as to whether the 3-drug cocktail is truly synergistic. I can’t ascertain this from the abstract because the abstract does not provide a mean value or even a range of values for the replicon results of the 3-drug regimen.
Using the quick-and-dirty method of adding the reported range for the single-drug regimens (0.7-1.6 logs) to the reported range of the 2-drug regimens (2.0-2.6 logs) yields a nominal “additive” range of 2.7-4.2 logs for the 3-drug regimen. Thus, the assertion in the PR that the 3-drug regimen “resulted in RNA reductions of almost 4 log10, substantially higher than the expected additive effect” is hard to square with the other numeric disclosures in the PR. Presumably, this will become clear when we see the actual poster presentation. Regards, Dew
