Boston Scientific stops defibrillator sales

Natick medical device maker Boston Scientific Corp. today said it has halted shipment and is recalling two of its best-selling products because changes in the way they are produced weren't approved by the Food and Drug Administration...

I was told by someone in biotech manufacturing that you never let a scientist alone in an FDA-approved facility because they always want to tinker with things to make them better, and that was too expensive.
