OT: Good post(s). A perfect example of the patient not excepting anything less than (all the care someone else can buy) is the tar & feathering of the HMO model introduced in the early 90's that actually worked for a period of time. It's downfall was the practice of not rubber stamping patient or physicians requests; virtually any and all. Insurance companies were, and are, often vilified for questioning the value of medical procedures and/or therapies.

Does anyone seriously expect the cost of medical care in the USA to decrease or remain relatively stable? We've become accustom to, and conditioned to, expect the best care (someone else can buy) for us.
