As for the jerk still fascinated with grade 4 English spelling rules - the q-u rule does not apply to words with origins that are not Germanic or Romantic. On your next trip to the Middle East, stop off in Iraq or Qatar and chew some qat - then go to Israel and spend a few sheqelim on a high school education (once you've gotten past learning the Hebrew alphabet, tell me what you think of the 19th letter - qoph). Why not participate in an archaelogical dig in Albania... maybe you'll find a rare qintar.... Head over to Afghanistan or Pakistan and buy yourself a stylish new burqa.
