The people that are going to a local healer for a mixture like that aren't the ones we'll be marketing to, I'm not sure how you'd market to them anyway. That group will be the ones that will be given the product through Governmental subsidies. Those that buy their medicine in pharmacies are the ones that we'll market to, for the most part.
I don't disagree with you that we need to do further testing, but I've been talking to a lot of people within the SC community for quite a while now and they get most of their information from others. When a doctor suggests/recommends something (usually Hydroxyurea), they ask others what their opinion is an if it worked for them (or their children). The also ask what they've used that did work. That's where the, as you call it, "anecdotal testimony" comes in. Yes, the ball was dropped, but does that mean we can't build a company around marketing the product and success stories shared by word-of-mouth? There's no way that we can sit around and wait until full clinicals are done before we get out and sell the product, it's not going to happen.
Lastly, while I'm very focused on the fact that there are numerous opportunities to help millions of people through the efforts we intend to make, this isn't a charity, we are here to make money. In my book, if you can help someone and make money at the same time, you've done a pretty good days work.
We need money to get this thing back in production, I'm asking those that have put money into it if they'd like to further invest and I'm offering them a more than fair return on their investment if they get involved. I'm not showing them pictures of kids lying in a hospital and trying to guilt them into investing, I'm telling them that if they do and we are successful they'll make money, plain and simple. I've put two years into this project without getting paid, spent six months living in a hotel room in Africa trying to get two dozen people on the same page and fought the Creditor's Committee the entire way. If that's reprehensible, so be it.
All along I've said that our goal is to repay the creditors 100% of their money and give the shareholders an opportunity to not only get their money back, but to build their investment. I didn't have to fight with everyone that told me to forget the past since they knew it was an investment and they lost their money; I could have just taken their money and the positions that I've been offered and said to hell with everyone, but I didn't.
I'm sorry that you think what I'm doing is so horrible, but what would you like to see happen? Would it be better to bring in only new investors and not ask those that have been here for years if they would like the terms we've offered? I ask for help with the bills and expenses because I'm doing this full-time and can't afford to pay for everything myself. Again, we can agree to disagree on this, you clearly think I'm taking advantage of people, I think that we need money to move things forward. You feel there's nothing to save or that there's no possibilities of anything happening, I disagree with you. It's obviously possible that I'm wrong, it's also possible that I can gather the support around the world in the Sickle Cell community to make it happen. I've had enough people who have either taken Nicosan or given it to their children tell me what it's done for them to know that there's an opportunity here and yes, that opportunity is to help people AND to make money as an investment...
FYI, Dr. Pandey hasn't been involved since November.
To everyone else (those that support me that is), please, no comments on this. This isn't about me, it's about getting the job done and while I appreciate the public support, let's stay focused on here we can share personal discussions via email or phone as many of us have been doing for quite a while.
