dude buying $500 of anything seems pointless at the time but can get you started. First stock ever bought was a pump and dump from a fax but turned $500 into $1000 in one day. Then you take your $1000 and double that and so on and so on.

About commission fees, are you kidding me? You have to pay a commission fee no matter what you buy. Ok, depending on the broker the fee may be more for CDIV then stocks above $1 but what's that extra $20 matter when you're looking to make 5x's your money?
