Be careful, if you didn't see 5/3 was just downgraded. They are hurting bad. At most branchs you have to open a savings with the checking and fund both. GA maybe a different story as they are newer to that market and my want your business no matter what. Either way I would call the branch you plan on visiting and asking about the checking account and get all the info before you go. Otherwise I would open an account online. they assign it to a branch once it's open. Chase paid me 150 and my wife 100 to open checking accounts. We just have to keep them open for 6 months. We just set up a DD to go into each account for 1 dollar. Oh yeah 5/3 does charge a fee if you close the account before 6 months. Just be careful or open it online.
