I will be honest I find Soros to be ‘enigmatic’.

I agree. He was a Hungarian Jew who lived through the Nazi occupation. Then lived in the Soviet aftermath. Then left for American I believe after he 1956 revolution and became a Wall street legend. How could anyone with such a varied experience of different governments and cultures have anything but a very different view of world politics than most Americans? I think this is one of his strengths. No question in my mind he sees things many others cannot. On top of this background he still speaks Hungarian and I bet his Russian ( which was required in school in his era ) is still quite functional so he jumps at least two language barriers that most Americans cannot in terms of current events.

As far as Georgia goes, in spite of being a high profile Billionaire with a more informed view than most he is just one guy. Moscow and Washington both have a large team of thugs and spin doctors working all the angles. I disagreed with some of the ABB crowd he sponsored in the last election but it was not as if there was an intelligent group with critical mass that he could sponsor. Both the Democrats and the Republican parties were pro-war this time around.

I certainly don´t understand all his moves in regards to Georgia, Ukraine and other places but whenever I ask one of the "Soros is evil" crowd why he is evil no can come up with anything at all to back it up. I said it before and I will say it again I think better than %90 of the complaints about Soros fall into the category of " no good deed goes unpunished "
