This one should scare the hell of you.
A right-wing prosecutor in San Bernardino county, California, initiated a sting in which he sent two men undercover into a strip club. They requested a private dance (as is the custom if you got the dough, I guess) by two women who SIMULATED sex with each other. No contact, other than shaking hands, was exchanged between the dancers and the men. The prosecutor charged the women with prostitution, and the club owner with pimping and another charge I can't think of right now. The prostitution charge is a misdemeanor, the owners charges are felonies. The case is now in the California Appeals Court. THIS is what I was afraid of when we elected a right-wing Christian president, who appointed an even MORE right-wing fundamentalist AG. Now, every right-wing a$$hole with any authority feels he has a mandate to try to enforce HIS/HER version of morality on the rest of us. I don't have much time to spare for protests, but I have written, E-mailed, and phoned, my state, and national senators and congressmen. This is the first time in a long time I wish I had more money, so I could send it to the ACLU. I wonder how our right-wing friends will feel when they have to show ID to rent a PG movie, or when the thought police come knocking on THEIR door. I also have never understood the right-wings ability to totally disregard the First Amendment, while fighting to the death for the Second. I guess it's "Shoot first, and talk later - if you're able."
Man, I'm thinking this four years is going to REALLY suck!
