Let's put it this way - for a 30 and 60 minute RENKO chart -- I have found that the MDY is easier for me to determine change in trends with the MDY over the SPX. I suppose that I could compare the MDY and SPY and get similar results. The SPX just moves too quickly to get the "optimization" down to a science.
