You just gave the arguements for cancelling the Ares. Nasa has been killing people. The solid rocket fuel booster has killed more people than any other propulsion system and is bound to kill more. 42 people died in Utah when one blew up in the factory and of course Nasa wants to leave those people out of the statistics like their lives don't count.

The use of the booster was chosen for military considerations, not safety or science.

Nasa returning to the moon isn't expected to yeild much new science. We've already proven we have the tech to do it. They need to let the private companies do it. Nasa should be going where no man has gone before, then we'll get a real return in science.

What do think the public response is going to be when Nasa trys to put a trillion dollar space station in the ocean ?

The new Falcon 9 gets ready to head for the launch pad. http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=17005
