I think the whole liquidity argument for shorting is bogus and provides artificially low share prices. It really only benefits the MM that never cover most of those shorted shares. Nice to make money out of thin air. Wish I could. Let the actual buyers and sellers determine the market. With real supply and demand. Who cares if a stock does not trade up or down artificially? Only the MM who make the money on those transactions. You know as well as I do that at some point shareholders will sell and buy a stock as they decide regardless of whether or not there is someone to artificially move the pps up or down at their discretion. Why should someone buying a top suffer an artificial bottom just so the MM can make money by creating artificial liquidity. A true investor long in a stock could give a rat's ass if it trades alot of volume everyday. That only benefits traders and MM who are not interested in a company's real value. Stock prices should move according to fundamentals and perceived value by actual shareholders and buyers who are the market. If you want to sell you simply find a price someone is willing to pay. I'd rather sell at a discount in the green than be made red by MM. JMO.
