Yes, perhaps it's a matter of what the ancient Greeks referred to as hubris.

Yesterday someone pasted in a message by Matt Brown in response to the beginning phase of the SEC allegations.

The tone was that of someone describing the allegations as nothing more than a challenge in a small claims court and not to worry because it would be quickly resolved in his favor.

In the intermim, the young man has, in reality, been "getting his affairs in order."

It may not be obvious to some, but at least it's obvious to me, various branches of the federal government, and probably branches of state and local governments, have spent a great deal of time and money investigating, compiling evidence, not to mention serving arrest warrants and filing documents with the court.

Up ahead is this Bill Panetta guy, who lied to a federal grand jury. Do you actually believe his legal counsel will work out a deal where, in exchange for a suspended sentence, he forfeits all his assets to the federal government?

I don't believe that will happen.


He looks at you like you owe him money.
